Coronavirus in the Political Sphere

Videoconference with the Center for European and Asian Studies in Yekaterinburg

On February 17, Orbeli Analytical-Research Center and Center for European and Asian Studies in Yekaterinburg held a joint webinar on a topic titled “Coronavirus in the Political Sphere”.

The event was attended by Vadim Dubichev, First Deputy Chief of the Governor’s Staff, Olga Malik, Head of the International Relations Department at the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The moderators of the event were Andrey Rusakov, Director of the Center for European and Asian Studies and Michael Yalanuzyan, moderator of Orbeli Analytical-Research Center.

From the Armenian side, Samvel Manukyan, Candidate of Sociological Sciences and expert at Orbeli Center, expert Johnny Melikyan and Anna Margaryan, Advisor to the Head of the Public Relations and Information Center SNCO participated in the discussion.

The participants presented the situation with the coronavirus in their countries, discussed the spread of the pandemic and its impact on domestic political agenda. Experts from both Yekaterinburg and Yerevan stated that the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and public perceptions caused by it have much in common in both countries.

Following the reports, the sides replied to the questions of mutual interest and made a number of proposals.
